[She remembers finding messages of Zulius calling her frantically. She remembers promising Zulius that she would be careful this time, only to be taken anyway. She remembers Zulius coming to save her, and loudly telling off her shadow that he'd go after her every time, even if he got hurt.]
[It's not fair, she thinks.]
[For her and Takame (and likely Vergil) violence had been a way of life for them for a long time. But it didn't seem that way for Zulius. Zulius had never brought harm to anybody, but those closest to him kept getting hurt. She knows that pain, and she doesn't like it.]
[Surely, news of Takame's death and resurrection must have reached him by now. And she saw the state that Vergil was in at the end of the battle with Kirei.]
[So she shows up at Zulius' door with a nice bottle of wine and a copy of one of those movies he likes so much. What does family do, if not support each other in times like these.]
I thought I'd come check on you. It seemed to me like you could use a break.
[Zulius has been running largely on spit and hope. Thanks to Dante's fussing and Edward's abilities, he has managed to get some sleep. More than he would on his own steam, by any measure. But when he answers the door, he hasn't quite managed to gather all of his sparkly back yet. So while he greets Rose with a smile, it's more muted than it usually is. But she gets a smile all the same, because seeing her always does lift his spirits, no matter how dark things get. ]
Oh, hey Rosey. You are so right, I could use like, a billion breaks. Maybe a whole month of breaks at this point.
[ He steps aside to let her into his horrific pink apartment. He waves a hand vaguely at the rainbow bead curtains that lead to his bedroom. ]
Verg is like, sleeping through there, so I might have to go check on him once in a while, but he's doing way better. We should be able to get a couple hours of girl time.
post-battle, whenever is convenient
[And she remembers her friends' response.]
