It's this guy, Sung Jinwoo. He used to be on a kdrama about ten years ago. Apparently he was even an up and coming star, but something happened that made him fake his death and join the Order instead. [He'll even link to the show, because YES Elliot has done his research.]
I think he's interested in doing acting again, but he's too nervous to actually approach anyone about it. Which sounds like a perfect opportunity to poach him before anyone else does.
And wow that's one heck of a backstory. That's like, super tragic. Kdrama's not exactly my AREA so I don't recognise him, but yeah! If he wants to do acting again I can give him a shot. I trust your judgement on this one, El.
Right? And to think he covers it up most of the time.
Yeah, it's a backstory practically made for theatre. You should totally check out Kdrama though when you got some time on your hands. I kinda fell down a rabbit hole while researching, and it's wild.
That's honestly gotta be breaking some sort of law against hotness.
You know I might do that! I mean, lol like I ever have any free time, but maybe I can scooch some in.
[And then he'll have the better part of a month trying to emotionally recover from dying where he'll have plenty of free time to watch it. The monkey paw curls. ]
I'm sure it'll be aces. Thanks for the tip Babe, appreciate it!
Pretty sure that's not how legislation works, but it's good you have spirit!
Oh, that's good to know. He seems like a really nice guy, so I think if nothing else it'd be nice if he could have more in his life than just Order business.
I made it SUPER clear I was not down for the whole JUDGEMENT OF THE ROCK thing, which was my first like, concern. But it's fine. Nothing to worry about.
Oh. His "wrath of the rock" thing. Basically, it's a Liyue saying that essentially means Rex Lapis, aka Zhongli, will bring punishment personally to whoever broke their contract. The nature of the punishment was tailored to how the contract was broken.
I wouldn't worry about it, honestly. He's not omniscient, so he's not going to know if you break it unless you do it literally in front of his face. Zhongli is really only there as a neutral third party in the case of if a dispute happens. As long as you and Zulius are both satisfied, it's not a big deal.
That said, if you feel otherwise, you guys know me! I'll step in if you need me to.
[He's doing his absolute best to assuage Elliot's valid worries about it.]
I honestly thought he meant STONING people at first but nope. No. Actually worse than that somehow.
Yeah, it's all good, I promise I didn't okay him to do anything weird with them. My employees are my family and you don't screw over your family (my parents excluded). But I'm sure Jusis would look over it if you want him to- I won't be OFFENDED or anything.
Jusis might be happy having paperwork to play with, too :)
Yeah, not that I don't trust you both, and I do appreciate your reassurances, I do! But I think I'll take my contract to Jusis to look over. You know, just to make sure it's been seen by a lawyer that has practiced law within this century.
I shouldn't be surprised the old lizard hasn't updated his legal knowledge, but somehow I am. Gods, he's such a boomer. If yours checks out, the rest of ours probably will, too.
He IS such a boomer!! I mean it's an endearing character trait, but STILL. Catch up at least a couple of centuries, Zhongli, we promise nothing will bite you or take out your old man knees.
Yeah, I'll let you guys know. It might be a bit though. Jusis has been busy handling the logistics of some trip, so I don't want to add to his workload.
[Not like he's planning on breaking his contract in the immediate future anyway. This isn't as high priority]
Something tells me you'd have quite the time dragging Zhongli into the modern era if you tried though.
HONestly, even without a trip, I think Jusis' work is super crazy all the time. Nothing I see about the Black Order suggests they're even remotely easy to manage.
[A gigantic, raging dragon plopping in the middle of his day is exactly Jusis' luck at this point. ]
Hah, right? Even if we LITerally drag him there. Like pushing a real stubborn boulder up a hill.
I guess when you have to deal with a group of Guardians like the ones we've got stationed here, you get very antsy when it's quiet.
[Venti has no idea and he'll remain blissfully ignorant.]
I'm not teaching the old lizard how to do that. On the other hand, he'd probably say something like, "But there is no way to check the veracity of one's purchase until it arrives unlike going to a shop yourself." Plus, I don't wanna know what he'd do if he gets something from a scammer or scalper.
IDK, he could take up a hobby that's more relaxing than dealing with the Guardians. Like juggling chainsaws, for example.
Good goose, yeah he'd be SO weird about it. On THAT note, just because of who he is, if he ever gets near a Neiman Marcus Christmas Catalogue, that thing needs to be BURNED before he ever sees inside it. No one wants to live in a world where Zhongli has access to that thing, trust me.
A scammer would have NO chance. Honestly, I'm amazed he hasn't dealt with any already. Maybe he has and he just has a secret closet full of the bones of people who tried to scam him with fake tax reimbursements or something.

Zulius, I got a lead on a new actor to fill in some of the roles you got open.

I GOT this.

Great! Fingers crossed it works out!

No problem! I hope it works out! No pressure if it doesn't though.
[Because frankly he gets it. Professional theater isn't always the place for personal feelings]

Course! We'll give him a try, if theatre ends up not being his thing, I've got connections in other places he can try out.

RIGHT! I am ALL for giving those poor guys something better than that entire mess.

Are you sure that's wise?

If he did, I would've made sure he slept in my backyard for it!

[Nothing like the inevitability of plopping a gigantic, raging dragon in the middle of Kaisou to liven up someone's work life?]
By the time he's caught up to the 21st century, it'll be the 24th century, for sure, and that's being generous.

I wonder if I'll live to see the day that Zhongli learns how to order things online. [...] Then again that'd probably be really dangerous.

[But neiman marcus huh? Elliot's never really shopped at a place like that so he takes a moment to google it]

Okay I'm sorry if this is unrelated to you guys casually mentioning that Zhongli's willing to do murder by his own extreme code, but-
WHY ARE THE COOKIES $80?!
