I have thought about what I would like to do with my life now that I am free. Much like a few months ago, I am reminded that there may be other captives out there, much like I was, who are awaiting rescue.
Until I destroy the laboratory that held me with my own hands, I will not know peace. Until I have ensured no one is forgotten and left behind, I will not know peace...
When I am done, I may travel for a while, or I may return right away. I have not decided. All I am sure of is that I must do this if I am to close that chapter of my life.
[This is more than she's ever talked to Zulius in one conversation.]

That's definitely the most she's ever said to him in one setting, and the whole thing has such a weight to it. He wants to pitch an entire shitfit. He wants to scream and rail against this because she belongs here. She can live her weird little cryptid life here where she'd be safe and protected. The Vogue looks after their own.
...But he supposes that's the point. The Vogue can protect her as much as they like. The wolf might not be at her door now, but it's not dead. Not completely. It's terrifying to think of her out there by herself, finishing off what they all started here. But he does get it. She needs that peace. She deserves it. [The smile fades. This is hard. He folds his arms.]

[Right, smile back on, he waves his hand airily.]

Home. Somehow I like the sound of that. [She looks down for a moment, looks at her hands. When her gray-eyed gaze finds Zulius again, she is smiling. It's faint but it's there.] I will return. I don't know when, but I intend to, when I have had my fill of the world.
[She used to be an adventurer in that other life. Perhaps this was always going to happen.]
I would not turn away the help. I will also write you and Jusis letters periodically, so you know I am not dead.

[She looks at his open arms for a second, confused. Then he follows it up with a request for a hug. She knows what one is in theory, and steps closer, but with her arms held out unsteadily.]

[And he's glad for that! He'll miss her, but she's well overdue in finding her own place in the world. He does have to laugh at her attempts to engage with this hug. Oh, honey. ]

[He'll step forward to put his arms around her, pulling her into a hug. He gives her a gentle squeeze.]

[She can't remember the last time she cried. When she speaks again, her voice is rough at the edges, even a little wobbly.]
