The Vogue Theatre

The Vogue Theatre
Located in the Entertainment District, The Vogue has been running under Zulius for just under four years, when he moved to the city and bought up the building. It seats 650 people- with stalls and a dress circle. The Vogue allows all kinds of touring shows- from fabulous musicals to side-splitting comedy acts to moving plays. On Tuesday nights, Zulius runs a stage school/club for anyone who wants to come along and learn a little of the craft- people will just have to put up with his catty support style. At least a couple nights a month are open to drag nights- with the entirety of June given up for "The Fabulous Season", where Kaisou residents are encouraged to compete in a Drag Race style competition. It also sports a pretty fancy bar, for all sorts of drinks and cocktails. In the lobby is an oil painting of a ballerina in a gold frame, a Vergil Vittore original- Zulius is very gay about it. Occasionally, Zulius's bad-tempered sphynx cat, Grizabella can be found stalking about the place- as can his more even-tempered devon rexes Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer - all the cats hate Zulius.
ITEMS
Here are a list of various magical and nonmagical items which can be found in The Vogue.
"Dancing" frog
In a tank on the bar there is a normal-looking green frog named Humphrey Frogart. Zulius swears that he sings and dances ragtime when no one else is around, but no one's ever seen that happen.
Ice chest
The bar has a drop-in ice chest, enchanted to be cold-proof and generate a bucket's worth of ice whenever the lid is opened - from Moxxie
Poltergeist
A poltergeist haunts the theatre- often moving things and playing harmless pranks. If you stay on his good side, he is helpful in finding lost items, and will protect the theatre whenever it's under attack. His name is Alejandro.
Santa centaurs
All year round, weirdly buff santa centaur decorations can be found hanging around the lobby and bar. There are currently 16 of them.
Banana lamp
A banana-shaped lamp can be found in Zulius' office- from Elliot.
Bar stools
Extremely classy barstools are now in the bar area after a building upgrade, yay!
Staff

NPC STAFF - NPCs who also work in the theatre and can be used as background characters as needed.
  • Raymond - Normie, theatre troupe, big thespian. Unfortunately drops all props he has to hold constantly. He wants to try SO hard but he's just. Bad. At everything.
  • Nancy - Siren with a human form, Zulius knows her parents from New York. Theatre troupe but reluctant to take lead singing roles. Bubbly and very sweet to everyone. Everyone's cheerleader.
  • Cynthia - Normie, sound/light engineer. Very buff. Doesn't speak to people and is generally never seen outside of the control booth. There are rumours that she killed a man in Albuquerque. She will neither confirm nor deny.
  • Briar - Has fire abilities. Theatre troupe. They're pretty extra and push themselves more than they really should. There's a noddle incident where they once tried to do a backflip on rollerskates and mooned some important city official. Don't talk about it in their presence.
  • Bennet - Werewolf. Caretaker. He's a neat freak who has an extreme belief in various theatre superstitions and WILL pull you up on it if he thinks you're disrespecting them. Has many anxieties. Sheds often.
  • Ruthie - Theatre troupe. She's 80 years old and refuses to retire. No one can decide if she's a normie or if she's a witch. Sometimes she says things that suggest she knows about the paranormal but equally she might just be a rambling old lady. Is actually a great actress.
  • Elliot - Former app user. A musical genius who rules over the theatre's orchestra pit with an iron fist. Genuinely a nice guy but he expects perfection and will keep the musicians under his care practising until they achieve it. Do not touch or god-forbid steal the theatre's musical instruments. He will hunt you down like a dog.
  • Casa Zulius
Following a spiral staircase towards the back of the theatre will lead you to the spacious studio apartment above the building that Zulius calls home. It's VERY pink and VERY gaudy. If asked about it, he'll just say pink makes him feel comfortable and safe, don't judge him, wow! He has a kitchen but his cooking abilities are pretty poor. There are an excessive amount of mirrors everywhere and a stupidly large space is given up to his wardrobe. The bathroom is a separate room, and Zulius' bedroom is separated from the rest of the living space by rainbow bead curtains. It has a balcony that looks over the side of the theatre, giving a pretty good view of the Entertainment District. LAYOUT HERE
